I first saw the Strength Builder Pushup System on a website that was dedicated to selling Navy SEAL gear. I showed it to a buddy of mine that was really into military style training and he just scoffed at it: "you can already do those type of push-ups on the ground" he said.

Actually, you can't. If you tried to imitate the hand positions on the Strength Builder, you would almost certainly injure your wrist. At the very least, it would be extremely uncomfortable.

The grips on the Strength Builder are very comfortable. I love the fact that there are so many different positions and that arrwos "guide" you through a routine. I thought I was in pretty good shape but so far I've only managed to do five pushups in each grip position in sequence. Normally, I can do fifty pushups in a row no problem.

The grips that you use on this board are a real challenge and you definitely feel all of the different muscel groups that get worked.

The build quality is excellent. The base board is made of plastic and is extremely robust. The grips/handles are steel with neoprene covers. The neoprene seems to be of good quality, not the cheap/thin stuff. My only gripe is that the grips "stick" in the holes a little and it takes a concerted effort to get them out. I think this will improve with use though.

Also note that the grip isn't designed to go into both holes at once. If you buy one you'll freak out at first because the handles appear to be too long. You'll quickly realize, however, that its part of the design and is actually vary smart as it allows you to vary wrist angle for comfort.
