(More customer reviews)I purchased this Dumb bell Disc set to add variety during my pool workout in my pool. I already own quite a bit of Speedo pool resistance products such as the 1-piece resistance jog belt, pull buoy, hydro resistance gloves and am usually a big fan of Speedo for their quality products that hold up to abuse. Unfortunately, I am very unhappy with the discs as they offer very little resistance. In fact, the Speedo Hydro Resistance Swim Gloves offer as much, if not more, resistance and they are easier to use/control. These discs are unwieldy to use or control in the water so it is difficult to maintain proper form for a quality workout and are far to buoyant. After a week of trying different exercises recommended on the disc box and from various sources online, I am very disappointed and have given them to my kids for play. This product is probably most suitable for those who need VERY light resistance training or rehabilitation after surgery, otherwise I do not recommend these discs.

First thoughts when discs arrived:
* Quality feel and materials. Attractive design
* Good color choice available which coordinate with other Speedo products
* Extremely comfortable to hold in hand
* VERY light weight, easy to transport in my equipment bag

Cons:
* Light to zero resistance
* Unwieldy in the water
* TOO buoyant
* Expensive considering other products available that do work better and are more effective

If you are need a product for post-surgery/injury rehabilitation or for VERY light resistance work, this may be suitable for the task. However, I do find Speedo's Hydro Resistance Swim Gloves most suitable for upper body work in comparison, with the added benefit of increasing shoulder strength and improving swim strokes when used in combination with a Pull Buoy.
